Nameless Inkings
Remember when I posted a story I found inside FFXII called "The Wolf In The Woods"? Well the writers of FFXII has done it agian, and I am sure there are still more inside the game that I don't even know of.
This is a great little piece about two Bangaas who had a long journey all the way to the city of Nabudis. It's really sweet and poignant. It's like a super short novel, it's just brilliant, read it and enjoy. It's like a hors d'oeuvres of a story.
"Page 1: Observations
Genus: Humanoid
Classification: Bangaa
Humanoid race, their bodies covered in small, hard scales, with distinctive long, drooping ears. Bangaa are nimble and strong, living up to twice as long as the average hume. In manner and intelligence they greatly resemble humes, and as such as the most integrated of the humanoid races in hume society.
Even so, some humes call the bangaa "lizards" behind their backs, but this is considered a slur, and is like to deeply offend any bangaa within hearing.
Page 2: Nameless Inkings
It was a clement day when my partner and I arrived at Nabudis at the end of a long journey. I remember looking upon her beautiful welcoming streets and realizing no other place could be more fitting a destination. Gathering up what coin we had, we secured residence, and began to look for work. From odd jobs to risky border patrols, we did all, and were satisfied.
Thinking of it now, I realize, I was happy then.
Page 3
We were not particular in our acceptance of work, and so in a short time amassed enough wealth that we might live in some degree of comfort.
Our residence began to fill with the articles and artifacts of our daily lives, and soon we found our roots sunk so deep in the soil of this city, we could not imagine ever leaving. Though I assisted my partner with work, we gradually came to seek out our own time, and so grew apart. Yet, we were satisfied. Why need this life ever end?
Page 4
Several years after beginning out life in Nabudis, there came a call for soldiers from the city watch. We had, by this time, made something of a name for ourselves, and so did a summons come to us. We were not born in this city of Nabudis, yet our love or the town knew nothing of this, and we accepted without delay.
I was given to the border patrol, my partner to the defense of the city wall. The night before I was to leave, we ate a splendid meal and drank such wine as we could afford. It was as though we knew it would be our last meal together.
Page 5
The days of my patrol were harsh, yet we finished out duties, and weeks later, had only to return.
That night, I dreamt.
My partner came to me, trying to tell me something, yet I could hear nothing but the blowing of a distant wind. Perhaps I became homesick as I slept, for when I awoke, my eyes were wet with tears. In the dream, my partner had been unchanged, a perfect memory.
Our feet turned home, all out thoughts flying down the road ahead of us, faster than we might hope to walk, back toward Nabudis.
Page 6
What awaited us upon our return was not a hero's welcome, but despair. Gone were the beautiful palisades, gone were the families and friends that surely awaited us. Only a wasted, blasted land remained.
Then we saw the people of Nabudis, though to call them that is a jape of the bitt'rest sort. They were the walking dead, hungering for life, and consuming all they found that was light and good. We fought them to save our own lives, and we wept.
Then, among the dead, I saw him. And I could fight no more."

It's been maybe 7 months since I spoke to her for the last time, which is a good thing, because for my own mentalities sake I desperately needed to get over her. It's not all bad I suppose, let's me know I am alive. If I was this boring monotone cubical geek maybe I couldn't do something as expressive as acting/directing etc all that jazz.
It almost feels like (and I know I am over exaggerating like mad now) but it truly feels like I almost missed out on my soulmate. I know I know I didn't really but almost feels like it. It was all the small things that I really miss and enjoyed so much...
I panicked to get love. I think she has a kid now, she was supposed to give birth on march or something... imagine that. I suppose it wouldn't have worked out anyway since she wanted to settle down at an early age, but me? Fuck no :)) See you around the world babies.
Not sure if I hate her nowdays but, I suppose I still hope she is doing well. She always had it rough but I loved to always *be there* for her... take care lady.

Nixon's speach that never was. + Poem Time!
Checking out digg.com I stumbled upon a little speech. A speech that we never got to hear because he was only going to read it if Niel Armstrong and the boys didn't make it to moon, if they crashed onto the surface or couldn't get out of there for some reason.
The speech writer named William Safire wrote this short but beautiful speach, I am taking the liberty of highlighting the bits that I like the most, it's my fucking blog after all.
"Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace.
These brave men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, know that there is no hope for their recovery. But they also know that there is hope for mankind in their sacrifice.
These two men are laying down their lives in mankind's most noble goal: the search for truth and understanding.
They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be mourned by their nation; they will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned by a Mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown.
In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man.
In ancient days, men looked at stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood.
Others will follow, and surely find their way home. Man's search will not be denied. But these men were the first, and they will remain the foremost in our hearts.
For every human being who looks up at the moon in the nights to come will know that there is some corner of another world that is forever mankind."
Simply beautiful, on another note, I think he got a little influenced by one of Rupert Brook's poems "The Soldier". It's an amazing poem, I am not a type of person who roots the country I grew up in, so I don't care too much if something would happen to Sweden, or Turkey even less. I am more of a swede then anything, but this poem almost made me well upp and felt very brittish for some reason, so enjoy bitches.
"The Solider
If I should die, think only this of me:That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven."

The Wolf In The Woods
"A truth: Things there are in this world not meant to exist in harmony with one another, whether they be so close as to touch, or so far as to never know the other's being.
Actions were taken in defiance of this truth, and indeed, they stirred the imagination of the world, yet only served to hasten the inevitable end. Who can say this is not the preferable Outcome? - Amata, Philosopher.
Listen! A village there was between the mountains and the sea.
It was a peaceful village, yet with one abiding fear: a great wolf that had come to live in the forest nearby.
None knew when or whence this violent beast had come, yet his howls crept over cobblestone and rang in the rafters, setting the villagers trembling.
Yet the wolf howled not to threaten, but for loneliness. Indeed, he sought after friendship of the villagers, not their flesh.
A hunter from the village came, and saw the wolf, and understood its cry. So he sought to help the beast.
"Wolf, do you know why you are feared? It is because your aspect is frightful to us"
The wolf asked what he might do to amend this, upon which the hunter replied, "Wolf, I shall cast a magic upon you so that you might have the form of a human." And by the time the hunter finished speaking, the wolf had indeed transformed. The wolf thanked him, but the hunter gave him a warning, saying, "You are man only in appearance. Know this: you must never speak, for you are a wolf, and this is the way things should be"
The wolf that walked as a man left the forest and went into town. His new face glowed with joy, for now he would have friends. The people on the street viewed this stranger with suspicion at first, yet his smile won him their trust and welcome.
The wolf was moved by the smiles they returned him, for he had never seen men showing anything but fear. Yet he did not speak, for that is the way things should be.
So was this joyous time for the wolf. But sooner it grew dark.
The wolf returned to the forest, a wolf, no longer a man. That night he did not howl, but drifted off to sleep thanking the hunter who had given him such a wonderful day. And the hunter saw the wolf, and was glad
Listen! A village there was between the mountains and the sea.
A peaceful village, for fear was dead, slain by the proud hunter whose blood-song sounded over cobblestone and rang in the rafters, easing the villagers fitful sleep.
And the hunter did not doubt nor did he cease his song... until the day a great pack of wolves descended on the village.
For that was the way things should be."

This Fucking Household...
Last summer when they left to Turkey was the best month of 2008. The second I heard my mom step into the door it was like the depression struck back instantly. If it wasn't for my angel of a dad (I love that man to death, such an inspiration, if I'll turn out to be 1/10th of that man I tell you what... amazing) I would've rather lived like an homeless and pissing and sleeping in alleys then stay in this house.
Rain Rain Go Away.
There is light at the end of the tunnel though, just got to keep on truckin'

I am deeps
Not only am I amazingly good looking (ask anybody, I swear!) turns out I am also quite philosophical. This makes a whole lot of sense since I am planning on studying philosophy among other things when I go back to school in a few months.I can't remember the details but I posted a comment on one digg submission a good while ago saying that humans will never invent nor learn everything there ever is to be invented or to be learned. That in itself is a bit philosophical, and by that I mean that you can argue for and against it and no one will be totally right or wrong I guess. This one fella thought I was 100% wrong so I sent in a question to one of my favorite astrologists Dr Niel deGrasse Tyson (I always pronounce his name with an Jamaican accent), hey! I couldn't think of anybody else ok? I thought of sending the same question to folks at Cambridge and Oxford etc (yes I am srs bsns) but I couldn't find any contact info on their website, on purpose perhaps? HMMM! *the plot thickens*
Keep in mind this was probably 2-3 months ago BUT DON'T FRET! I obviously sturred into quite a few peoples thought holes to get an answer back. Not from Dr Tyson himself since he obviously is a very busy man, but from one of this amigos K. E. Saavik Ford and this is what he says
"Dear Burak,
Your question to Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson was directed to me. He has
been impossibly busy lately and I have agreed to share the task of
answering the many questions he receives daily.
You raise an interesting philosophical speculation. There is no scientific
answer to this question, but we can speculate:
For example, there are presumably an infinite variety of mousetraps (e.g.
spring-loaded with infinite varieties of cheese ranging to the infinitely
complex & ridiculous, dropping skyscrapers of slightly different heights
on mice, etc etc). It therefore seems like that for every possible
invention (presumably infinitely many), there may be an infinity of
variants. Therefore even given an infinite amount of time, you're in the
business of comparing infinities (which you can do mathematically, but it
is difficult to know how to quantify the infinities here).
If you're asking can we know everything in our Universe, the present
answer is no. There are definite limits to our knowledge (certainly as far
as our present knowledge is concerned). For example, the rules that govern
sub-atomic
particles (quantum theory) tell us that you can *never* know both the
position & momentum of a sub-atomic particle to arbitrary precision.
Thank you for your interest,

Quite interesting huh?

For People Who Think We Are Alone
Take a good fucking look at this picture. It's a bit compressed so click on it to get a bigger view. I know some people are... well to be honest, fucking stupid, but fuck me if you think that we are alone in the universe you deserve a medal. See each dot on that huge picture? Yea that's a star, just like ours that is sitting like 8 light minutes away. Exactly the same potato, it might be bigger or smaller but it's the same deal.
What you are looking at is 150.000 stars in our own galaxy, the milky way which is a tiny fraction of milky ways BILLIONS of stars. As we know there are eight planets orbiting our sun. Just think of the fucking odds of there being NOT A SINGLE FUCKING PLANET ORBITING ANY OF THOES STARS ON THAT PICTURE. Do you know what the odds of that is? Me neither but I bet my life that it's fucking small. Considering that the picture only contains 150.000 stars and our own galaxy has billions makes my point even more valid. Is your mind boggled yet?
Now take a look at THIS picture. Every dot of light there is a galaxy, each of them containing an additional of billions and billions of stars and where there is a star there might be a planet orbiting it. Feel stupid yet?
Check THIS epic picture. What? More galaxies? What's your point I get ya already! I hear you say. What's so special about this picture that probably is one of my favorite one is that NASA pointed The Hubble telescope at an (what they thought) was a completely empty patch of the sky. They obviously already have a huge gallery of pictures of the universe so they said to themselfs "So many galaxies Robert... it seems endless" "I hear ya John, so many galaxies, billions of them and each of them containing billions of stars and shit" "But there HAS to be a place where it's just complete darkness, like my sex life" "Yeah I suppose, there can't be just endless amounts of galaxies can there?" So what did Robert and John do? They pointed Hubble telescope at what they thought was a complete empty and black patch of sky, they said "can't be anythere there can it?" 12 days of exposure later Hubble sends them this exact picture "FUCK ME EVEN MORE GALAXIES WHAT THE HELL?" they yelled in unison. Again, tons of galaxies with zillions of stars.
And people STILL think "No way man, no aliens brah". Idiots. Now I'm not saying that there are aliens in soucers flying from galaxy to galaxy, that's not what's important. I am talking about LIFE full stop. Animals eating... whatevs they eat on their planet. Fish or birds etc, must be millions of planets filled with life. Just think of the odds of there not beeing any life? It's next to impossible, as far as we know the universe is infinetily big.
Go outside for a sec and hold a pen at arms length towards the sky. The tip of that pen is probably 1mm thick. That tip is covering over 10.000 galaxies... imagine that huh.
The last picture is an epic one though. The Pale Blue Dot. What's that? Let my old friend Carl Saga tell you.
Now YOU TELL ME where are the only mofos in the universe...
Over and out.

Emtying Some Thoughts
As far as the acting thing goes, mentally it's going great. It's all in the mind for me. "All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become. ~Buddha". I am doing great by leaps and bounds and I CAN'T WAIT to put it all into practice. The unfortunate thing is though that I've done a bit more research on my voyage to acting school (NYFA) and it seems like my high school degree is gonna take me a year and a half to get (I'm a high school drop out, i'm an artist baby what do ya want from me? more on that later, it's a story in it's own). So that's that as far as school goes, i'll most probably start school in the fall and read about Philosophy, Psychology amongs other things. I have gotten a few ideas for character's one of which I got kinda inspired by a friend of mine, how the character is going to look anyway, Kristina Holmgren and her looovely head of hair. (she's the one on the bottom left). I'm not into any sort of hair fetish but hers just strikes my so beautifully. I can't go into detail about my idea though obviously, rest assured that If i go ahead with it you will like it :)
Speaking of Philosophy, fuck me, I just saw this pretty long documentary about how fucking DEEP The Matrix really is philosophically. I'm not even gonna get into it the slightest because it was so deep I didn't understand half of it. But I'll link it HERE and be warned, if you are neither interested in philosophy nor haven't seen The Matrix Trilogies, then don't watch this documentary. But I gotto say, I fuckig loved it. The Matrix has to be one of the best films in the last decades just for this reason alone.
Oh one more thing, Blip.fm. You all must now by now that I am a huge music buff, we've done this man, we've gone through this. Music is everything so I am glad to share a bit of my second passion with you all in my new account, blip.fm/buraken. Please do get it yourself (and get twitter also) and let's share some great tunes eh? No? Fuck off then =(
I'm going to wrap up this burrito of a post with posting a video about the man, the myth, the legend, Hideo Kojima himself. The fella that create the legendary game series Metal Gear Solid. Surely one of the best games ever. Interestingly I have a little bit of Kojima in me, in the sense that (as far as I know) when Hideo Kojima was "but a lad", he actually wanted to direct films but he ended up making video games, and most of his inspiration comes from films. I might be wrong here but that's basically the gist of his story as far as I know. I am kinda like that too but in the other way. Most of MY inspirations are from video games but I AM going to make films, great innit?
Here he talks about basically from bottom to top, how he did what he did. He goes through each game and what his thought process was etc, it's super fascinating. Please enjoy.
I better wrap this long-ass boring post right HURR.

An Essay
"English is a funny language!
There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple... English muffins were not invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies, while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.
We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.
And why is it that writers write, but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce, and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So, one moose, 2 meese? One index, two indices? Is cheese the
plural of choose?
If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
In what language do people recite at a play, and play at a recital?
Ship by truck, and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? Park on driveways and drive on parkways?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell another?
When a house burns up, it burns down. You fill in a form by filling it out, and an alarm clock goes off by going on.
When the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch, I start it, but when I wind up this essay, I end it?"

The Soundtrack
Personally I feel the best soundtracks I have heard has definitively not come from any Hollywood film but rather video games and animes, FOR SURE. For anyone who has ever played any Final Fantasy game is virtually high fiving me at the moment, my love goes out to Nobuo Uematsu. Metal Gear Solid? Harry Gregson-Williams is a genius. Cowboy Bebop might have one of the best soundtracks out there, it's just nuts. The jazzy film noir feeling it gives... Max Payne... we gonna talk about max payne later, I'm saving it for it's own post. If I ever act in a film, or direct one, produce one etc, I am going to sit down FIRMLY with a (hopefully) amazing composer and we gonna sort out magic from crap mates.
Legend Of Zelda? Brilliant. Oldboy OST? Brilliant. I suppose though it's all relative, since the best songs that one person likes is the one they have some sort of emotional connection to of some sort so even the most trivial piece can become amazing, fair enough. I love the trumpet though, lately it has taken the top stop for one of my favorite instruments, I also love strings, in a big orchestra, obviously.
Still so much more that can be said about a score but, gonna keep it relatively short today, so instead I'm going to leave you with this.
I was wondering, which one of these two do YOU like the most? I love em' both and can't make up my mind.
UPDATE: Jesus fuck, Can't believe I forgot one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard and own. GRIM FANDANGO of course, what else? What the hell was I smoking when I was writing this earlier today. Grim Fandango OST 5/5 easy, one of THE best. And whomever composes scores and stuff for Blizzard games. World of Warcraft soundtrack is just brilliant, I love Blizzard, but I've stated this before.

You know what annoys me?
Birthdays. I mean who the fuck cares about birthdays unless you are under 21 or over 80 or something. People who take birthdays too seriously should be shot, like people who's friendship hinges on the fact if their friends show up for ones birthday or not. Let me tell ya, if that is the case with you then you didn't have much of a friendship to begin with mate. Fuck birthdays (and valentines day).
Another thing that annoys me. Unnecessary nudity in gym locker rooms. Who the fuck weighs them self completely nude? I am not a homophobic by ANY stretch of the imagination, in fact, I fucking love gays (no pun intended) but unless you are gonna take a ride on the space shuttle I recon you can pop on a pair of boxers and take of 100grams if you need to be so fucking specific. People who happily wander around naked, bending over like they are playing some volleyball game in the locker rooms, WTF? Put some clothes on mofos.
Completely random and from the top of my head. I have a lot more stuff to whine about, more on that later though. Stay Tuned.

So, does school kill creativity? I was unfortunate to end up in the wrong type of school when I was younger and that is why I am in this mess now.

Current status
a) Jobless - Doesn't REALLY bother me, would be nice to have a nice job to go to, I still refuse to take ANY job just to get cash because I refuse to work at a place I am not happy with. I am not talking about beeing CEO at a company or anything but say working at Mickey D's... forget it. Not that desperate YET.
b) Didn't graduate what you may call high school - Or it might be collage, not sure. Doesn't bother me either. I just wish that I had found out "what I want to do when I get older" thang when I was 15-16 (or of course even younger) instead of 22, but it's fine =). So I need to read up on a few things and get my degrees which shouldn't be hard at all to be honest. I don't wanna blow my self but I am pretty smart.
c) Haven't gone to any acting classes or schools - Of course, if you have "it" then you do but school is still brilliant, SO MUCH TO LEARN AND I CAN'T WAIT. Once I found an email in my inbox folder. Some casting agen't had found my old profile on a page where you can work as an extra on sets. He sent me a mail asking me if I would like to audition, so I did that. Just the fact that he found my profile that had been deactivated for 6+ months and he still found me and sent me a mail says to me "this is the job for you" "well thank you my alter ego I lurv you <3"
I think that's it about now. I Guess it could have been a lot worse. I am a lot happier then last year, I think it's pretty confirmed now. I had a depression during 2008. Glad to be over that shit. Time to get into school, get degrees, and whore myself out so I can get cash for either kulturama or Nyfa. A long way from the big screen innit. No rush. I keep writing down ideas I have for various film/tv stuff. Maybe one day... maybe babyl
That's it for now, but I aint leaving you without a tune.
